“A crowd of over 240 packed into Lozotte’s in Lambton to watch the latest offering from Award-winning Surf cinematographer and director Tim Bonython.
Rough Cuts is a hot off-the-press series of mini docos featuring some of this year’s biggest wave surfing.
Surfers the likes of Mick Fanning, Taj Burrow, Owen Wright, Mark Matthews, Laurie Towner, teenager Russell Bierke and Michell Bourez tackle some of the gnarliest swells Bonython has ever captured on film.
Shipstern, The Right, Teahupoo are just some of the places the film-maker from North Sydney travelled to this year.
Adding to the spectacular viewing was the performace of local band Majora.
The four-piece instrumental band play a mixture of post-rock, progressive metal and atmospheric/ambient music.
It was the perfect fit for the movie and I can honestly say I don’t think I want to watch another surf movie without them playing LIVE – they were so fucking good.
