Since the 2nd day of 2014 Tim his wife Sandrine and sons Tristan and Maxim have spent almost every day with a projector rolling and big screen lit up with the likes of Kelly Slater, Mark Mathews, Alex Gray, a naked Karl Atkins and 16 year-old big wave up-and-comer Russell Bierke.
It’s a massive trip for the family from Avalon as they road trip up and down the Australia’s east coast and then onto Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia. As of today there have been 9 shows mostly sold out and full house on the night with some amazing reviews from the audience.
Craig Brokensha – Just thought I’d let you know that me, and my mates (who are non-surfers) really enjoyed ASMF. I loved the Chopes stuff, some amazing footage and editing! My friends loved the more backstage and underground desert stuff and the travelling/camping out etc. Keep it up!

Surf Careers – The Avoca screening of the Australian Surf Movie Festival last night was awesome, if you get the chance to go make sure you do! I was also lucky enough to win a door prize DVD of Tim’s move Immersion. Thanks Tim!

Kellie Vincent – It was totally awesome!!! We had a group of parents (6) and 6 boys who are all in the Surf Club and are just getting into surfing! They were stoked. The footage was magical and mesmorising as well as awe inspiring. Thank you so much for coming to Nelson Bay. Look forward to next time. The boys all went for a surf this morning – they were pumped!!!
The tour is the brain child of Director Tim and Producer wife Sandrine who adamantly believe that surf movies are best seen on the BIG SCREEN and will continue to work hard to tour surf movies as long as they can. Tim says “Even though there are so many millions of surf video hits online people still like a nice night out at their local cinema or club to watch surf movies. There is something special about getting together with your mates having some dinner and a drink and watching the biggest and best waves of the year. Watching Kelly Slater get barreled in waves in the middle of the Great Australian Bite, you’re not going to see that anywhere else!”
Tim hosts each night himself at the venues and to bring an element of community, gets local surf shops and businesses involved to provide lucky door prizes. “It’s a great way to make it a fun community event and get everyone involved as well as help promote the local surf shop in the area” says Tim.
